Elmonjed Drops in Grade for Deauville Group Three Race
Group Two winner Elmonjed seeks back-to-back victories in the Prix de Ris-Orangis at Deauville.

William Haggas' sprinter Elmonjed aims to make it two wins on the bounce as he drops in grade for Saturday's Group Three Prix de Ris-Orangis at Deauville, live on Sky Sports Racing.
The four-year-old produced a career-best performance when winning the Group Two Minster Stakes at York in May and now takes on seven rivals in what appears a winnable contest despite conceding weight all round.
Key Contenders
- Elmonjed (William Haggas) – Group Two winner seeking back-to-back success.
- Summer Sail – Narrow winner last time at Chantilly and warrants respect.
- Mise En Boite – Solid proposition who should run his race.
- Charibelle – Easy winner at Saint-Cloud but needs more in this higher grade.
The card also features the Listed Prix Roland de Chambure, where unbeaten Avec Toi clashes with Queen Of The Day, and the Listed Prix Yacowlef, which includes British raiders Crownbreaker and Minzelle.
British Raiders in Action
Crownbreaker, trained by Kevin Phillipart de Foy, was fifth behind Victorious in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and drops in class here. Karl Burke's Minzelle, a 450,000gns yearling, made a pleasing debut and won at Catterick, stepping up to face stiffer opposition.
Across the Atlantic at Saratoga, Grade One action includes the Belmont Oaks with Charlie Appleby's Abashiri heading 10 runners, and the Belmont Derby featuring Pacific Avenue and Title Role.
