Ombudsman's half-sister Syndicale set for racecourse debut at Wolverhampton

Syndicale, a half-sister of the multiple Group 1 winner Ombudsman, will make her racecourse debut at Wolverhampton's evening meeting on Wednesday. The two-year-old filly, trained by Karl Burke, runs in the Tips For Every Race At raceday-ready.com EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies' Stakes over seven furlongs on the Tapeta surface.

By Ten Sovereigns, Syndicale is part of a powerful Spigot Lodge operation that has sent three two-year-olds to Wolverhampton this season, with two winning. The Cheveley Park-owned filly is expected to attract significant attention given her famous bloodline.

Strong supporting cast at Dunstall Park

The race also features Consultation, who ran a promising race at Yarmouth last month. The winner of that contest, Zigazig Ah, subsequently landed Newbury's Super Sprint, boosting the form significantly. Any improvement from Consultation could see her go close.

Perfect Love, a daughter of Palace Pier bought for 30,000 guineas, will be ridden by Alistair Rawlinson for Mick Appleby. Appleby is closing in on 200 career wins at Dunstall Park.

Listed action from Vichy

Earlier in the day, Sky Sports Racing covers the Listed Prix Hubert Baguenault de Puchesse at Vichy, where Horizon Dore and Zarraf clash. Horizon Dore, a six-year-old gelding, was rated 120 at his peak and placed third in the 2023 Champion Stakes, while Zarraf is a younger, progressive four-year-old who beat Wolferton winner Map Of Stars in April.

The evening card at Wolverhampton begins at 5.30pm, with the Syndicale maiden scheduled for 7pm.
