Euro 2028: Dates, stadiums and host cities confirmed for four-nation tournament

UEFA Euro 2028 will be jointly hosted by England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland, with the final scheduled for Wembley Stadium in London on 9 July 2028.

The tournament opens on 9 June 2028 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and will consist of 51 matches played across nine stadiums in eight host cities.

Wembley has been assigned eight fixtures, including both semi-finals and the final. Other venues include the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Etihad Stadium, Everton's new Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool, St James' Park, Villa Park, Hampden Park and the Republic of Ireland's Dublin stadium.

What's different this time

For the first time in the tournament's history, none of the co-hosts are guaranteed automatic qualification. England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland must all enter the qualifying group stage, with the draw expected in December 2026.

Northern Ireland was originally part of the hosting plan but was removed after delays in the redevelopment of Casement Park.

Spain enter Euro 2028 as the defending champions after beating England 2-1 in the Euro 2024 final in Berlin. More details on the qualifying format are expected to be confirmed ahead of the December 2026 draw.
