Tottenham push for Savinho as Real Madrid cool Rodri interest

Tottenham are reportedly confident of signing Manchester City winger Savinho, according to the transfer gossip round-up published on Sunday. The same round-up states that Real Madrid have no intention of moving for City midfielder Rodri in this window.

The Savinho link is attributed to reporter Fabrizio Romano and concerns the 22-year-old Brazil international, who would represent a significant attacking addition for Spurs if a deal materialises. No fee, structure or timetable is mentioned in the reports, and neither club has commented publicly.

On Rodri, the round-up cites The Athletic in reporting that Real Madrid will not pursue the 30-year-old Spain midfielder this summer, cooling one of the more heavily discussed potential moves of the window.

Milan keep tabs on Foden

Italian outlet Tuttosport reports that AC Milan are monitoring Manchester City and England midfielder Phil Foden, 26. Any approach would reportedly depend on Milan first selling Portugal forward Rafael Leao, 27, which makes a deal complicated at this stage.

Other lines from Sunday's gossip

• Leicester City defender Ben Nelson, 22, has told the club he wants to leave, with Manchester United and West Ham reportedly interested (Mail).
• Arsenal are set to sign 18-year-old defender Elijah Upson after he turned down a new contract at Tottenham (Fabrizio Romano).
• Liverpool are reported to be closing on 17-year-old Colombian midfielder Samuel Martinez from Atletico Nacional for about £750,000 (The Athletic).
• Chelsea's talks over France defender Maxence Lacroix, 26, are being held up by Crystal Palace's asking price of around £70m (Caught Offside).
• Bayern Munich expect Joao Palhinha back for pre-season, with reports of an Aston Villa move described as wide of the mark (Sky Germany).

None of the reported moves has been confirmed, and gossip columns of this kind typically mix advanced negotiations with early-stage interest. With pre-season under way at most clubs, further clarity on several of these situations is likely to emerge over the coming weeks.
