Roma join Manchester United and Tottenham in Crysencio Summerville race

Roma are competing with Manchester United and Tottenham for West Ham forward Crysencio Summerville, according to talkSPORT. The 24-year-old is expected to leave the London Stadium this summer after the club's relegation to the Championship.

Summerville was one of the few positives in a difficult season for West Ham, scoring seven goals in 34 appearances across all competitions and featuring in 31 Premier League matches during the 2025/26 campaign. His standing rose further at the World Cup in North America, where he contributed two goals and two assists as the Netherlands reached the round of 32 before losing to Morocco on penalties.

Who is in the running

Tottenham's interest is long-standing: the club enquired about the former Leeds winger in January. United opened talks with West Ham earlier this month, but Roma are now reported to be actively working on a deal and, like United, could offer Champions League football. The Serie A side have recent experience of recruiting from the Premier League, having taken Donyell Malen on loan from Aston Villa in January before making the move permanent for £21.3million in May.

The Rashford complication

talkSPORT correspondent Ben Jacobs has indicated that United's pursuit of a left-sided attacker is likely to depend on resolving Marcus Rashford's situation. Rashford is set to return to Old Trafford after Barcelona chose not to take up a £26million buyout option, having instead signed Anthony Gordon for £70million and moved close to completing a deal for Karim Adyemi from Borussia Dortmund.

With no clear resolution on Rashford yet, Roma may feel they have room to move ahead of their Premier League rivals. Summerville's next destination is unlikely to be settled quickly, but the queue of clubs is already forming for a player whose value has climbed despite his club's relegation.
