Sam Hickey to face Brad Axe on August 8 in Dublin live on Sky Sports
Scottish middleweight Sam Hickey returns to action against Brad Axe on the undercard of Aaron McKenna's world title fight.

Sam Hickey will face Brad Axe in an eight-round middleweight bout on August 8 at Dublin's 3Arena, live on Sky Sports. The fight is part of the Zuffa Boxing 10 card headlined by Aaron McKenna's IBF world title fight against Etinosa Oliha.
Hickey, 5-0 as a professional, is coming off a spectacular second-round knockout of previously unbeaten Todd Tompkins earlier this month in Bournemouth. The Dundee native won a Commonwealth Games gold medal as an amateur and made his Zuffa Boxing debut on that card.
Fight details
The bout is scheduled as an eight-round middleweight contest. Hickey will be making his second appearance under the Zuffa Boxing banner, while Axe enters the fight on a four-fight winning streak.
The opponent
Brad Axe, a serving member of the Royal Air Force Fire and Rescue Service, has a professional record of 5-1. The rugged veteran most recently won a bloody eight-round decision over Kevin Reavell in May. Hickey acknowledged the step up in opposition, telling Sky Sports: 'It's another step up. These guys come in and they come swinging. It just gives me more chance to open them up and hopefully put on another highlight reel performance.'
