Barry Hearn: Anthony Joshua Could Fight for Three More Years

Barry Hearn, founder of Matchroom Sport, has suggested that Anthony Joshua may continue boxing for another three years, contradicting earlier expectations that the former heavyweight champion would retire in 2026.

Joshua, 36, was initially tipped to hang up his gloves after a potential fight with Tyson Fury. However, following a tragic car accident in Nigeria that killed two friends and left him with minor injuries, Hearn told Sky Sports that Joshua is now talking about a longer career.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hearn said: "I don’t think I’ve seen him so motivated for the long term. He’s now talking about the next three years in the ring." This marks a shift from 11 months ago when promoter Eddie Hearn indicated 2026 would likely be Joshua's final year.
