Wakefield thrash Castleford with nine tries, Walmsley's Uno celebration
Wakefield Trinity scored nine tries to beat Castleford Tigers 54-4, boosting their Super League top-four hopes.

Wakefield Trinity put on a dominant display to thrash Castleford Tigers 54-4 at Hill Dickinson Stadium, running in nine tries to strengthen their push for a top-four finish in Super League.
Daryl Powell's side climbed to third place on 24 points, recording their sixth win in seven games. Castleford, in contrast, remain ninth after a disjointed performance that saw them miss 44 tackles and make repeated errors.
Try spree and Uno celebration
Cameron Scott, Tom Johnstone and Caleb Hamlin-Uele each scored twice for Wakefield, while Lachlan Walmsley, Tyson Smoothy and Josh Rourke also crossed. Walmsley’s spectacular one-handed finish in the corner was followed by an unusual celebration: he pulled an Uno +4 card from his sock, raising £180 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association as part of Magic Weekend sponsorship.
Castleford's only try came from Jason Qareqare a minute before full-time, his 10th in seven games, but it was scant consolation for the visitors.
- Wakefield opened the scoring in the third minute through Cameron Scott after Lachlan Walmsley caught a Jake Trueman kick.
- Tom Johnstone crossed in the 16th minute, and Caleb Hamlin-Uele powered through two tackles to score Wakefield's third.
- Scott added his second before Walmsley's acrobatic try made it 24-0 after 47 minutes.
- Tyson Smoothy and Hamlin-Uele added further tries, with Johnstone bagging his second on 65 minutes.
- Josh Rourke caught Jack Sinfield's kick to crash over for Wakefield's ninth try.
What's next
Wakefield's victory keeps them firmly in the hunt for a top-four spot, while Castleford will need to address defensive frailties to avoid slipping further down the table. Both teams are back in action next week in Super League.
