Ange Postecoglou favourite to replace Steve Clarke as Scotland manager
Former Celtic and Tottenham boss leads the betting after Steve Clarke's resignation following World Cup exit.

Steve Clarke has resigned as Scotland manager following the team's elimination from the World Cup at the group stage, ending a seven-year tenure that included a historic return to major tournaments. Former Celtic and Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has emerged as the early favourite to succeed him.
Clarke, 62, led Scotland to their first World Cup since 1998, but a 1-0 win over Haiti was followed by defeats to Morocco and Brazil, leaving the Tartan Army short of the knockout rounds. He also guided the nation to back-to-back European Championships for the first time since the 1990s.
Who could replace Clarke?
Postecoglou, 60, has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest in October. He previously won five of six domestic trophies with Celtic and secured Tottenham's first trophy in 17 years by winning the Europa League. He also has international experience, having coached Australia to the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 Asian Cup title.
Other candidates reportedly include former Everton manager David Moyes, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez, and ex-Scotland internationals Neil McCann, John McGlynn, and Steven Naismith.
- Ange Postecoglou is the current favourite to take over
- Clarke's resignation came after Scotland's group-stage exit
- Scotland won their first World Cup match since 1990 but couldn't progress
- Postecoglou has experience in Scotland and on the international stage
- The Scottish FA is yet to comment on the appointment timeline
The Scottish FA is expected to begin the search for Clarke's successor soon, with a view to appointing a new manager ahead of the next international window in the autumn. Postecoglou's availability and familiarity with Scottish football make him a strong contender.
