Leo Atang stops Glen Williams in two rounds on US debut
The 19-year-old British heavyweight moved to 8-0 with a second-round stoppage in California on the undercard of Diego Pacheco's win over Immanuwel Aleem.

British heavyweight prospect Leo Atang stopped Glen Williams in the second round on his US debut in Los Angeles, moving his professional record to 8-0 with a seventh knockout.
The 19-year-old, who is signed to Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing, backed the 36-year-old Williams against the ropes with a clean left hand before unloading to the head. Referee Ray Armendariz waved the contest off shortly afterwards, with Williams unresponsive.
Atang's steady rise
It was the Yorkshire fighter's first bout on American soil, following a one-round win over Fouad Shaili in Sheffield. Williams, a four-fight professional, was expected to provide a step up in resistance but was dispatched inside two rounds at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Atang has consistently played down comparisons with Anthony Joshua and said in April that he sees no reason to rush his development. Hearn must now decide what level of opposition the teenager is ready for next.
Pacheco defends titles and eyes Munguia
In the main event, Diego Pacheco stopped Immanuwel Aleem in round 11 to retain his WBC Silver and WBO International super middleweight titles, improving to 26-0. The 25-year-old Californian had controlled the fight throughout before finishing it with a flurry of punches.
Pacheco said afterwards that he had read Aleem round by round and taken the openings offered to him, adding that he now wants "the best fight possible". He called out WBA champion Jaime Munguia following the victory.

Atang's progress will continue to be managed carefully, with his team indicating further incremental steps in opposition and rounds rather than a rapid move towards the heavyweight elite. Pacheco, meanwhile, has positioned himself for a significantly bigger assignment at super middleweight, with a Munguia fight the obvious target if the WBA champion is willing to take it.
