Harry Kane unsure about playing until 2030 World Cup after semi-final exit

Harry Kane has admitted it is too early to say whether he will still be playing for England at the next World Cup in 2030, following the team's 2-1 semi-final defeat to Argentina in Atlanta.

England led through Anthony Gordon's 55th-minute goal, but late strikes from Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez ended their hopes of reaching a first men's World Cup final since 1966. The result means Kane, now 32, has suffered a second World Cup semi-final loss with England, having also lost at that stage in 2018.

Kane's future in doubt

Speaking after the match, the Bayern Munich striker said: "It's too early to talk about that. For me, it's about taking it year by year and how I feel." He pointed to Lionel Messi, who at 39 played a key role for Argentina, as an example of longevity but stressed he would not put a limit on his own career.
