2027 golf majors: St Andrews to host The Open as Ryder Cup heads to Adare Manor
The 2027 major calendar has been set out, with St Andrews staging the 155th Open and Ireland's Adare Manor hosting the Ryder Cup's 100th-anniversary edition.

The dates and venues for the 2027 golf majors have been set out, with St Andrews due to stage the 155th Open and Adare Manor in County Limerick confirmed as the setting for the 46th Ryder Cup.
The men's schedule runs from Augusta in April through to the Open Championship in July, before the season closes with the Ryder Cup in Ireland in September. Europe will arrive as defending champions.
Men's majors: key dates
- The Masters — Augusta National, April 8-11. Rory McIlroy is the reigning champion after retaining the title in 2026.
- PGA Championship — PGA Frisco GC, Texas, May 20-23. England's Aaron Rai returns as defending champion.
- US Open — Pebble Beach, California, June 17-20, with Wyndham Clark the defending champion.
- The Open — St Andrews, Fife, July 15-18. Ryan Fox is the reigning champion.
McIlroy's victory at Augusta National in 2026 means he will arrive at the 2027 Masters chasing a third successive green jacket. Rai, meanwhile, faces the task of defending a major title on Texas soil, while Clark returns to Pebble Beach, the venue where he has previously contended at the highest level.
Women's majors and the Ryder Cup
Five women's majors are scheduled across 2027. Nelly Korda and Haeran Ryu shared the first four titles of the 2026 campaign between them and will both be aiming to add to their major tallies. The Chevron Championship opens the sequence in Houston in April, followed by the US Women's Open at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, in early June and the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Congressional Country Club later that month. The Amundi Evian Championship takes the tour to France in July, with the AIG Women's Open at Royal St George's in Kent closing the set at the end of July and into August.
The Ryder Cup, scheduled for September 17-19 at Adare Manor, will mark the 100th anniversary of the contest. Europe go in as the defending side, with the Irish venue hosting the event for the first time.
For the men's game, the 2027 calendar offers McIlroy a shot at a historic Augusta three-peat, Rai and Clark the chance to hold onto their titles, and Fox the prospect of defending the Claret Jug at the sport's most famous links. Attention will then turn to Ireland in September for a Ryder Cup centenary edition.
