Declan Rice set to start England's World Cup last-32 tie against DR Congo
Rice expected to return to England's starting XI for knockout match after calf injury.

Declan Rice is expected to be fit to start England's World Cup last-32 match against DR Congo on Wednesday, according to manager Thomas Tuchel. The Arsenal midfielder missed the 2-0 win over Panama after taking a heavy blow to the calf in the previous game against Ghana.
Rice, 27, was unable to complete full training before the Panama match but returned for the team's final session ahead of the trip to New Jersey. His availability provides a significant boost as England enter the knockout stages.
Injury concerns at right-back
While Rice's return is positive, Tuchel faces a defensive headache. Reece James sustained a hamstring injury against Ghana and missed the Panama game. Jarell Quansah, who deputised at right-back against Panama, is a major doubt with an ankle injury. Tino Livramento had already left the squad with a calf issue before the tournament began.
- Reece James (hamstring) unlikely for DR Congo, return later in tournament
- Jarell Quansah (ankle) 'very tight' to prove fitness
- Tino Livramento (calf) out of squad
- Djed Spence replaced Quansah vs Panama, likely starter
- Ezri Konsa (centre-back) a potential makeshift option at right-back
Djed Spence, who came on against Panama, is the leading candidate to start at right-back if both James and Quansah are ruled out. Tuchel could also deploy centre-back Ezri Konsa in that role.
England face DR Congo in Atlanta on Wednesday, with a place in the round of 16 at stake. Tuchel will finalise his lineup after assessing the injured players over the next 48 hours.
