Carson Beck impressing in OTAs, putting Cardinals QB situation on notice
Rookie Carson Beck is turning heads at Arizona Cardinals OTAs, potentially challenging veteran Jacoby Brissett for the starting job.

The Arizona Cardinals' quarterback room is drawing attention after rookie Carson Beck, a third-round pick in April's draft, has impressed during Organized Team Activities (OTAs). Beck, who played college football at Georgia and Miami, is competing with veteran Jacoby Brissett and newly signed Gardner Minshew II for the starting role.
Beck has already developed a connection with rookie running back Jeremiyah Love, the Cardinals' No. 3 overall pick. Footage from OTAs shows the pair connecting on short passes, generating excitement among fans. Head coach Mike LaFleur previously noted Beck 'looks the part' after six years in college football.
Brissett, who started 12 games in 2025 after Kyler Murray departed to the Minnesota Vikings, led the Cardinals to a 1-11 record as starter despite throwing for 3,366 yards and 23 touchdowns. He is in the final year of a $12.5 million deal with only $1.5 million guaranteed, making him one of the lowest-paid potential starters.
Some fans have already called for Beck to start Week 1, citing his potential upside compared to Brissett's known ceiling. The Cardinals are expected to continue evaluating all three quarterbacks during training camp before making a decision.
