Birmingham City sign Manchester United duo Turner and Naalsund

Birmingham City have completed the signings of defender Millie Turner and midfielder Lisa Naalsund from Manchester United, the club announced on Monday. The pair, who got engaged last month, join for undisclosed six-figure fees as Birmingham prepare to return to the Women's Super League (WSL).

Turner, 30, spent eight years at United, making 189 appearances and winning the FA Cup in 2024. The two-cap England international has signed a three-year deal with Birmingham. Naalsund, 31, made 74 appearances and scored eight goals for United since joining in January 2023, and has 39 caps for Norway.

What they bring

Turner helped United earn promotion to the WSL in 2019 and was a key figure in their rise. Birmingham manager Amy Merricks praised her leadership: "She brings experience and quality at the highest level, but also character and leadership that will set standards every day."

Naalsund, who won back-to-back league titles with Norwegian side Brann, said the club's project excited her: "When I spoke with the club, I got a good feeling. It's a really good project here and the future can be quite bright."
