Arsenal agree £34m deal for Christos Tzolis to replace Trossard
Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34 million.

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34 million, with the move expected to be completed imminently. The 24-year-old winger will replace Leandro Trossard, who left the club for Besiktas in a £17 million deal earlier this week.
Tzolis has been in prolific form during his two-year spell in Belgium, scoring 43 goals and providing 45 assists in 108 appearances for Brugge. His 51 goal involvements in the 2025/26 season were the third-highest in world football, trailing only Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Michael Olise.
Record-breaking transfer
The transfer fee will make Tzolis the most expensive Greek player of all time, surpassing the £31.4 million Brighton paid for Charalampos Kostoulas. It will also set a new record for the highest sale in Belgian Pro League history, eclipsing the £29.7 million AC Milan paid for Charles De Ketelaere.
- Tzolis previously played in England for Norwich City, making 14 Premier League appearances without a goal contribution.
- He joined Brugge in 2024 from Norwich for an undisclosed fee after loan spells at FC Twente and Fortuna Dusseldorf.
- The Greek international has earned 34 caps for his country and made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in 2021.
- His best season came in 2025/26, where he scored 22 goals and provided 29 assists in 52 games, helping Brugge win the league title.
Separate from other targets
talkSPORT understands that the Tzolis deal is independent of Arsenal's pursuit of Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, who remains the club's top target this window. The Gunners are also linked with Newcastle's Bruno Guimaraes and Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, though no agreements are close for those players.
Tzolis is expected to provide competition on the left wing for Arsenal, where Mikel Arteta hopes he can replicate Trossard's output. The 31-year-old Belgian contributed 36 goals and 34 assists in 174 appearances for the Gunners before his move to Besiktas.
